French residents: what to do with your foreign rental income?
Normally according to the non-double taxation treaties signed with France, income from real estate property is taxable only in the country where the property is located.
However, if you are a French tax resident, you also have to report your foreign income in France, even though some of these incomes are exempt.
For example, real estate income from Belgium is taxable under Belgian tax law, but you still have to declare it in France as an exempt income.
