Hiring in France
If you’re a company based outside of the EU it can be very complicated to acquire employees in France. There are numerous steps you must take to make sure this is carried out effectively in order for your business to be productive. If you’re thinking of owning a business in France and are planning to employ people to work for you, then you will need to hire someone who knows how the payroll system works in France.
A lot of factors come into play when hiring in France such as nationality of employees:
1)Any company that employs an individual in France must submit a pre-recruitment declaration (DPAE) with the local URSSAF. URSSAF (Unions for the Collection of Social Security and Family Allowance Contributions) are a private organization responsible for a public service mission, under the “collection” branch of the general social security system. They finance the reimbursement of medical care and other benefits.
2)The French administration requires a local contact to reply to any correspondence related to these social declarations. The contact must fulfil these reporting obligations and pay the social contributions due for the employees in France. A liaison office requires a reliable representative in France for it to be credible with the French administration.
3)DSN was introduced in France in order to replace and simplify the majority of corporate social security declarations. It is a single monthly online transmission of all payroll data and the reporting of events related to the employee’s life.
These are 3 services one has to consider when looking to hire in France.
